March News Report 2008

Dear friends and partners,

This month we are  travelling to China for two weeks of ministry. Our team will be preaching, teaching and ministering the Word of God to the Chinese people. We will also visit many of the churches we have pioneered and helped support and provide tens of thousands of Bibles. The work before me is immense and we need your prayers.

We want to share with you about our missionaries working in remote regions of India, Nepal and Bhutan to preach the gospel.

Many of our missionaries work in very dangerous conditions. They have to pass through jungles on foot or on bicycles where there are many wild animals, snakes, thieves and robbers. They often cross rivers, tracking through mountain regions to reach distant villages. These circumstances do not stop them, because they believe that every person is valuable and needs to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”  (John 4:35)

Setting people free at Redwa village - In North India, a woman was demon possessed. She was found running through the town without clothes. People took hold of her and sent her to a mental hospital. She went through much medical treatment, but later was sent home.  She groaned and scratched the mud walls and floor. Our missionaries were asked to cast out the evil spirit that tormented her for many years.

They prayed and fasted for a day and then visited her. They preached the gospel to her entire family and told of how Jesus would deliver the woman from her state of misery.  The moment the name of Jesus was spoken, every evil spirit left and she was instantly set free by the power of God.  Because of this miracle, many people received Jesus in their hearts. God has also enabled us to start a church in this village and many people are coming there to worship the Lord.

The Gospel in Bhutan -   Didi, one of our lady missionaries writes, “I visited Bhutan in May and October. God used me to lead six ladies to Jesus Christ. I made contacts with 24 families and presented them with Bibles and shared the gospel with them. At the border town of Phuentsholing and in Thimou (capital) I preached the gospel to people that are living without any hope in their lives. Religious persecution still persists and hopes are high for improvement with the reign of the new king and the new constitution established in Bhutan.

Hundreds are suffering in the Bhutanese Refugee camps in Nepal. They are living in miserable conditions without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Reports of rape, suicides and crimes are frequent. I made 5 visits to these camps. God used me to reach out and pray for them. I was able to tell them about Jesus Christ and distribute Bibles and tracts to many hungry souls. Eighteen women have joined me in starting a prayer cell in the camp. In May, I took brother Pat and team from India to visit the believers and encourage them in the Lord.

Social Activities that touches lives - Through God’s providence and your constant support, I am providing the 18 women and some children with clothes, cotton and wool for weaving, books and stationery. I brought home one rape victim, Martha, to take care of her. At the same time there are many orphan children from Bhutan under my care. Martha and these children have now come to know more about Jesus Christ and are taking part in the church activities.

This year is full of hope and excitement, the seeds sowed will surely bear fruit. I pray that more people will be reached and saved. I plan to go back to Bhutan and the Refugee camps again in the near future to bring in the harvest. I thank you very much for supporting and praying for me. It has made a lot of difference in the lives of people.

We appreciate your friendship, love and prayer.  Because of your faithful support, God is helping us reach the unreached and tell the untold about the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.

Together in the harvest,

Guine Anderson
