January News Report 2008
 |
Dear friends
and partners,
We declare over you and your family that 2008 will be a
year of new beginnings. The number 8 in biblical numerology means new
beginnings. It's interesting that 7 means completion and 8 means new
beginnings. We pray that 2008 will be a great blessing for your life
and the Lord will give you a new beginning.
The year
2007 was a great year of
Harvest.
God has helped us
train
thousands of young men and women in Christian life and ministry.
We have also
trained full
time workers and missionaries through our
Missions Training Centers.
We have
supported over
400 full time missionaries and their families,
supported over 1,000 children and orphans
by providing food, clothes, education, medical care and above all the love
of Jesus Christ. We
have recently bought a home for the orphan children in
India.
We have
conducted
small and large scale evangelistic
crusades,
conferences and missions gatherings all
across Asia.
We have
provided tens of thousands of Bibles, tracts and
teaching books. We have provided
humanitarian
aids to thousands of people like food,
clothes blankets, medical care, play ground equipment, wheel chairs and eye
glasses.
Christmas and New Year outreaches
- The last two months have been even more fruitful as our missionaries all
over Asia
conducted for special evangelistic outreaches to reach thousands of people
during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Hundreds of people made a commitment to
receive Jesus.
Children enjoyed performing Christmas plays,
visiting from house to house and singing praises to God.
They also enjoyed special meals, new clothes
and shoes.
Pray for Christians in
India,
Nepal
and Pakistan
-
During the Christmas season great
persecution took place in the state of Orissa.
In
India
six people were killed and hundreds of Christians were beaten and their
houses burnt by Hindu mobs.
A
few hundred churches, Christian schools and orphanages were also burnt by
Hindu fanatics.
This has caused great suffering for believers
living in the entire state.
In other parts of India,
persecution against Christians has increased greatly.
There are reports of 270
missionaries, pastors and believers killed in India
in the year 2007 alone.
In
Nepal,
Maoist (a communist underground movement) that has killed over 50,000 people
in
Nepal
has now joined the mainline government of
Nepal.
Once
one of the most peaceful nations in the world, this movement has now thrown
the country in to much uncertainty.
In
Pakistan,
the killing of Mrs. Bhutto has put the country in chaos.
Christians had high hopes
to have a stable Pakistan
but now things are in turmoil.
The political scene in
Burma,
Thailand
and
Kenya
are also
unstable,
but
with much prayer and fasting we can change the destiny of each one of these
nations.
The real truth is that billions of people live
in these nations and while the devil tries to destabilize governments and
persecute Christians, we see A Victorious Church emerging from all of these
nations.
China’s
revival continues
- The Church in China
continues to explode in number and growth.
In August 2008
Beijing
will host the Olympic Games.
China
is expecting millions of visitors to come visit their nation.
While tourism, export and economy continue to
expand, so does the advancement to the gospel.
Today China has over 110 million Christian.
Finding meeting places for church gathering continue to be a big problem in
the cities.
While the government
tries to keep a lid to the rapid growth in the number of believers,
the need for
Bibles remains a high priority for the believers.
This year Harvest NOW
plans to deliver 50,000 Bibles and train pastors and leaders though out the
country. Please pray for safety and protection for the work of God to bring
the Harvest in
China.
Missions trip to
Thailand
and Malaysia
– Please be praying for me as I make my first trip in 2008 to
Thailand
and Malaysia.
Much is being planned for expansion and growth
to advance the work of the gospel in these nations.
This year Harvest NOW desires to establish
strong bases to further the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for praying and sending us.
You are vital
to all that we do in
Harvest NOW.
We appreciate your friendship, love and prayer.
Because of your faithful support, God is
helping us reach the unreached and tell the untold about the good news of
the Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.
Together in the harvest,
Guine Anderson
