The Challenge of Missions

Today the world population is about six billion people. Only 6 % of that population live in the borders of the United States of America. Most of them have had the opportunity to hear the gospel and for  the others, they have heard it over and over again.  That leaves 94 % of the world living outside the United States. Over three billion people—60% of the world’s population  live in Asia and 94% of them have never heard the Name of Jesus.

The question is; Does God have a plan for their lives ? Can He save so many people ? Will every one have an opportunity to hear the name of Jesus ? Does the church (body) of the Lord Jesus Christ have a responsibility towards reaching our generation? How can I or my church, home group, cell or prayer group or business reach our generation? You can have many questions. But the answer to those questions is JESUS!

Today 97 percent of the world's unreached people live in the 10/40 Window. In this part of the world, millions live with little or no chance of ever hearing the Gospel. 

The people who live in this part of this part of the world are characterized as the most Unreached. This is where most of the major religions have begun and today billions of people are Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims and Communists.

Every day over 80,000 people die in Asia without ever hearing the name of Jesus in their life. In India over 500,000 villages have never heard the Gospel nor there is any church or a missionary working among them. 

The number of countries closed to traditional foreign missions is increasing. Yet in China alone, some 25,000 people are getting saved each day. In India 17,000 people are coming to Christ daily.  This is the work of the Holy Spirit through the prayers, and support of God’s people from around the world and the commitment of the native missionaries living in these nations.

God has given us a mandate to reach these forgotten masses of people by evangelism, training and supporting native missionaries and planting churches among them.  By training full time missionaries in these "Unreached Nations" we can reach them with the gospel so that Christianity is not regarded as a foreign religion but a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The most effective ways to reach people in every group is by sending and supporting native missionaries who are working directly among them.
